Chris K Music Week in Review: Helping Musicians Grow Through Lessons, Repairs, and Marching Band Services
At Chris K Music, every week brings new opportunities to serve musicians, students, schools, churches, and families throughout Mattoon, Illinois, surrounding communities, and online. Whether it’s teaching private music lessons, repairing instruments, writing music for marching bands, or creating educational content, our mission remains the same—to help musicians reach their full potential.
This week was another exciting one!
Private Music Lessons Continue to Grow
Music education remains the heart of Chris K Music. This week featured a full schedule of in-person and online private music lessons, working with students of all ages and experience levels.
Even more exciting, we received 12 new music lesson inquiries from individuals and families looking to begin or continue their musical journey. It’s encouraging to see so many people investing in music education.

Keeping Instruments Performing Their Best
This week also included six instrument repairs, along with one emergency repair that helped a musician get back to performing quickly.
Instrument repair services include adjustments, pad work, cleaning, cork replacement, spring work, solder repairs, dent removal, and general maintenance for many band and orchestra instruments.
Keeping your instrument in top playing condition helps improve tone, response, and reliability for rehearsals and performances.
Supporting Marching Bands Across Illinois
Marching season is quickly approaching, making it one of the busiest times of the year for CK Marching Services.
This week’s accomplishments included:
- Two marching percussion camps
- One completed drill and visual package
- One completed percussion marching book
- One full marching band show arrangement
CK Marching Services partners with school music programs by providing custom drill design, original music arranging, percussion writing, visual coordination, clinics, and educational support tailored to each band’s needs.
Watching students bring these custom productions to life is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
Sharing Music Education Online
Education doesn’t stop when lessons end.
This week also included three new educational videos shared across YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. These videos continue helping musicians everywhere by offering drum lessons, rhythm concepts, performance tips, and practical musical advice that students can apply immediately.
