Chris Keniley Selected as Adjudicator for 2026 A.A. Stagg Marching Band Jamboree
The 2026 marching band season continues to grow for Chris Keniley and CK Marching Services!
Chris Keniley will serve as an Adjudicator/Clinician at the A.A. Stagg Marching Band Jamboree on September 12, 2026, in Palos Hills, Illinois.
For this event, Keniley will provide nonscored general commentary to participating marching bands, offering an additional educational perspective alongside the competition’s scored adjudication.
Providing Big-Picture Feedback to Marching Bands
Early-season competitions provide marching bands with an important opportunity to receive feedback while their productions are still developing.
Rather than assigning a competitive score, Keniley’s role at the A.A. Stagg Jamboree will focus on providing useful, big-picture commentary about each band’s performance.
The goal is to help directors, staff members, and students recognize elements that are already communicating successfully while identifying opportunities for continued development as the season progresses.
This type of commentary can consider the complete marching band production, including musical communication, visual presentation, coordination, pacing, staging, effectiveness, and the overall experience created for the audience.
An Expanding 2026 Adjudication Schedule
The A.A. Stagg Marching Band Jamboree is another addition to Keniley’s growing 2026 marching band adjudication schedule.
His assignments this season provide opportunities to evaluate programs from several different perspectives, including music performance, visual performance, and general commentary.

Keniley brings more than two decades of experience in music education and the marching arts to his work with students and directors. His background includes teaching, performing, marching instruction, percussion, visual instruction, drill and show design, clinics, and adjudication.
Adjudication as an Educational Tool
Competition is only one part of marching band adjudication.
Effective adjudication should also provide educators and performers with information they can take back to rehearsal.
A useful adjudicator identifies strengths while giving programs practical ideas for continued improvement. Particularly early in the season, feedback can help staffs prioritize rehearsal time and make decisions that allow students to communicate their production more successfully.
Keniley looks forward to bringing that educational approach to the participating programs at A.A. Stagg.
