Welcome to Legacy Regiment

Legacy Regiment is community ensemble that offers performance opportunities to musicians of all ages, abilities and instruments through out Central Illinois.

Legacy Regiment will perform throughout the community, participate in select parades, and will compete through virtual marching competitions offered by DCI’s Sound Sport Program.   Our first step as an ensemble is to start making music in March 2021 and conclude by the end of July or early August.  Current Rehearsal and performance dates are listed below.

What to bring to Rehearsal and Performances?

***Mask (regular is fine, even for brass and wind players). This might change once we are able to practice and perform outside.

***Music Stand (travel or fold up works best)

***Music and Binder for Music (you will need to print music before hand, available online)

***Paper clips or tap (summer rehearsals)

***Water bottles

Wood Winds and Brass Instruments:  tuner, reeds, etc.  Tuba or large instruments can bring a stool or chair (non-marching/movement)

Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin, Ukulele, Banjo:  Secure strap, capo, tuners and picks.

Violin,  Viola, Cello and Dbl Bass:  Bring all accessories in order to play standing (not guitar style).  Chin rests or cloth recommended for support. Cello and Dbl Bass will need to bring a chair or stool (non marching/movement).

Drumline/Percussion:  Practice Pad or Snare Drum with Silence Pad/Mute,  Stand for Pad/Drum (that is tall enough for standing),  Sticks (ralph Hardiman or similar preferred).  Percussion players (toms, cymbals, etc.) can use regular sticks.

Electric Guitar/Bass Guitar: There will be a limited amount of spots for these instruments.  Will need picks, tuner,  strap,  instrument chord, small amplifier, pedals and extension cord.  We recommend playing Acoustic if possible.

Piano/Keyboardists:  Will need to bring a stand, portable keyboard (any size, smaller preferred), power chord (unless battery powered) and extension cord.  Can use mounted music stands that connect or portable music stands.
