MHS Wins BIG at WIU Marching Competition!

October 24, 2021 Marching Band News 0

Way to go Pride of the Greenwave Marching Band for their BEST finish at a collegiate competition!

1st percussion in Class

1st Winds/Music in Class

2nd overall in Class

And for the first time at WIU Gand Champion Percussion!

I’ve been coaching the percussion section there for 11 years now with more wins than I can keep track of. This is the first time that we took 1st at all competitions in a season! I’m extremely proud of the legacy built by former and current students and looking forward to the future.

Thank You Todd Black for bringing me on board the past 11 years to coach the drumline including writing drill, visual and original music for the MHS. Also a huge shout out to my private music lesson students at the MHS, Nate Huddleston, Chase Armstrong, Kris Jacobs, Gabe Freeman, Tim Crask, Avery Gee, Alex Warf and Bethany Pinnell for enabling me to write percussion music at a very high level! I encourage my private music students to work beyond high school level and it shows in their playing each season. Quite a few are seniors this year and will have hard shoes to fill!
