Thank You for an Exceptional Week of Summer Camps and Clinics

As another exciting week of summer music education comes to a close, I want to take a moment to thank the students and directors of the Dieterich Marching Band, Arcola HS Percussion, and Mattoon HS Drumline for an outstanding week of camps and clinics.

Throughout the week, students worked on a variety of skills including technique, timing, musicianship, ensemble performance, leadership, and preparation for upcoming summer and fall performances. Whether learning new cadences, refining fundamentals, or building confidence as performers, each group demonstrated a strong commitment to improvement and excellence.

The Arcola HS Percussion Camp continued to build on a successful week of instruction, with students developing their performance skills and preparing for the upcoming marching season. The Mattoon HS Drumline held its first rehearsal of the summer as students began preparing for the Bagelfest Parade and future performances. Dieterich Marching Band students continued their parade preparation while strengthening individual and ensemble fundamentals.

One of the most rewarding aspects of working with young musicians is watching their growth—not only as performers, but as leaders and teammates. The dedication, positive attitudes, and work ethic displayed by these students made this week a tremendous success.

Thank you to the students, directors, parents, and school communities for allowing me to be a part of your programs. It is always an honor to work alongside such talented and motivated musicians.

I look forward to seeing the continued growth of these programs and watching them represent their schools and communities throughout the summer and fall marching seasons.
