Week in Review: Another Busy Week at Chris K Music
At Chris K Music, no two weeks are ever the same, and this past week was one of the busiest and most rewarding of the summer.
Throughout the week, musicians, students, schools, and families trusted Chris K Music for a wide variety of educational and musical services. More than 20 instrument repairs were completed, helping students and performers keep their instruments in top playing condition. Two pianos were professionally tuned, ensuring they sound their best for practice, worship, and performance.
Marching band season is also beginning to take shape across the area. This week included clinics and instructional support with students from Dieterich Schools, Arcola High School, and Mattoon High School. Summer clinics are an important opportunity for students to develop technique, build confidence, and prepare for successful performances throughout the upcoming school year.
In addition to teaching and clinics, two marching band field show music projects were completed, providing schools with custom music designed to fit the needs of their ensembles. Two original drum cadences were also written, giving drumlines new material to perform at parades, football games, and community events.
Private music lessons remained a major focus throughout the week as more than 70 students received instruction both in person and online. Students from Illinois and across the United States continued working toward their musical goals through personalized lessons designed to meet their individual needs and interests.
